April 12, 2019, at the National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine took place solemn events on the occasion of the first graduation of special training of candidates for the post of prosecutor.
During the year, 248 candidates for the post of prosecutor were specially trained at the Academy, received knowledge and acquired practical skills, learned to draft procedural documents, mastered the maintenance of the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, studied issues of procedural guidance, prosecutor’s oversight of observance of laws in the execution of judicial decisions in criminal cases , public prosecution, representation by the public prosecutor of the interests of the state in court.
In the educational process were involved experts of the European Union Advisory Mission, the Council of Europe, the International Committee of the Red Cross, judges, practitioners of the prosecutor’s office.
The event was attended by Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko, head of the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors Vitalii Hrushkovskyi, head of the Prosecutor’s Council of Ukraine Mykhailo Misiura, senior advisor on the prosecution issues of the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine Jonathan Ratel, lawyer, barristers, expert of the Inns College of Court Advocacy Peter Birkett , legal adviser to the Council of Europe Project “Further Support to Criminal Justice Reform in Ukraine”, Oleksandr Dvornichenko, senior advisor on prosecution issues of the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine Karin Sigstedt.
The greetings came from the rector of the Academy Mykhailo Loshytskyi, who congratulated students on the completion of the special training.
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko, turning to future prosecutors, said: “I am proud that we managed to pass this complicated but necessary way not only for the prosecutor’s offices, but also for society, which is an achievement for the prosecutor’s office… I would like to express my gratitude first of all to the leadership and the teaching staff, the team of the Academy, as well as our international partners who joined this first educational process in Ukraine … During the year Academy made every effort to get you not only theoretical but also practical knowledge… The Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors, specialists of the prosecutor’s office and the judiciary have done everything possible to ensure that today the public received prosecutors serving the law of Ukraine… You are a key link in the system of law in Ukraine. I want to wish all of us the common victories that our country needs so much.”
Candidates for the position of the prosecutor who have passed special training received certificates.
On behalf of the students of the Institute for Special Education of the Academy spoke Yevhen Morozov, thanking the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the leadership and teaching staff of the Academy for the high level of training organization, the use of modern teaching methods and a friendly atmosphere.
